Andy Makes a Run for it with RWR Fitness for Body and Mind.

June 24, 2021

#RunWalkRide2021 started off as a very small  Facebook group , started by Andy Read. Andy started it to support a challenge he had taken which involved him running, walking or cycling 2021 miles in 2021. Andy suffered from depression and anxiety for many years and needed something to change, so he started this challenge. The group started off great and it grew quickly. This snowball effect saw Andy receiving a lot of messages from members, showing their gratitude for the group, and expressing how the group aided their personal journeys to become active again and improve the way they felt mentally.

‘I've suffered with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts for years now and wanted to start 2021 with a more positive outlook. I used to run so much and the depression took that away from me to a degree. I wanted my fitness back, my happy back and to give something back by raising money for Mind which has helped me before.’

EverythingBranded Are Along for the Ride!

Here at EverythingBranded, we care about mental health and wellbeing. So when Andy approached us we were happy to donate some personalised wristbands, made to give away to members. According to group members, they loved having a token to remind them that they are part of a supportive community, driving them to stay active in the body, and in turn the mind.

The Facebook group then transformed from a small group to support Andy’s personal challenge, to a much larger group based around fitness helping mental health, and Andy is so happy about that. He has always been so passionate about the link between fitness and mental health.

With over 1000 members in the group, the sheer volume of  has propelled Andy’s solo challenge into a group movement, creating the need for his brand new not-for profit company – RWR Fitness CIC. All the proceeds are either put back into the business and are donated to MIND charity.

If you feel like you could benefit from a place where people can share their fitness activities, gain support, motivation and support others all at the same time then join RWR Facebook Page.  Or if you want to see the schedule for upcoming group runs, then visit his homepage RWR Fitness.
