Supporting 360 Auto Leasing In Their Fundraising For Menphys

October 3, 2022

Menphys is a charity that helps disabled children live ordinary lives.

They provide opportunities for disabled children to participate in the community, and make sure they have the same life choices as other children.

Menphys have been supporting disabled children in the Leicestershire community for over 50 years. They support over 500 families a year through activity clubs, after school clubs and providing individual support.

360 Auto Leasing East Midlands: A proud supporter of Menphys

One company who has been an ongoing supporter of Leicester charities over the years is 360 Auto Leasing East Midlands.

360 Auto Leasing is a family-run company managed by Tracey and Ian Hallam and their son Taylor Gee. Tracey is no stranger to fundraising. She was previously Head of Fundraising at the charity Hope Against Cancer and has been an important figure in local fundraising for years.

Taylor Gee is following his mother’s example and has taken on the role of family fundraiser. He committed to running the Virgin Money London Marathon in October 2022 for Menphys.

As part of his fundraising, Taylor Gee and 360 Auto Leasing decided to arrange a charity curry night to raise funds for the marathon. But this wasn’t just any curry night – Taylor was planning on running on the treadmill for the entirety of the event!

360 Auto Leasing asked Everything Branded if we were able to support the charity curry night via their charitable strand Everything Community. We arranged for our company staff to attend the event, and also donated £150 towards Taylor’s fundraising goal.

A great location at the Chutney Ivy

The charity event was kindly hosted by Chutney Ivy in Leicester.

They were absolutely fantastic, making sure we had enough space, and the treadmill was in a safe area for Taylor Gee’s run.

Taylor Gee had been doing a lot of training to prepare for this, and it was clear he was ready as people began to arrive.

The atmosphere in the room was one of nervous excitement, this was going to be a night to remember!

A fast-paced curry night, with plenty of entertainment

As the guests sat down and started on their three-course Indian meal, Taylor Gee started running.

We can only imagine how hard it must have been for him, watching everyone eat while he put in the miles on the treadmill.

Taylor Gee did amazingly well – he was clearly very focused and managed to run non-stop for over two hours and made it look effortless.

The event was supported by many local businesses, and there was a raffle held after our meal with some really generous prizes. It was great to see businesses across Leicester come together to help.

As the raffle came to a close, we enjoyed performances from James Green, a fantastic local singer, who had agreed to perform for the event.

Overall, the charity curry night was a great success, raising over £1700 towards the fundraising goal. Everything Branded were thrilled to be able to play our part in

Taylor crosses the line in 4 hours 40 minutes

We kept in touch with Taylor as he continued with his training, and knew that he was aiming for a sub 5 hour time.

It was amazing to watch the live stream of finishers on the 2nd October, and see Taylor pass the finish line in a very respectable time of 4 hours and 40 minutes.

As a result of his fundraising efforts, Taylor has raised more than £4,100 for Menphys so far.

As some of you may have seen on social media, I successfully completed my Marathon challenge on Sunday in 4hours 40mins! I wanted to reach out to you all to say a massive thank you for sponsoring my Menphys Marathon challenge. To date, we have raised a whooping £4,145 for Menphys. Which will undoubtably make a massive difference to the charity. Helping young disabled people and their families across the county.
