In February, we had the privilege of working with ICON events on a special project for a celebrity gala and awards ceremony at the De Vere Grand Hotel in London.
The event was arranged by ICON, with the aim of raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer charity Prost8.
We’ve put together a full blog post about our donation and the event if you’d like to read more.
But as a quick recap, we donated 50 branded pairs of underpants that had the distinctive “MAD” (Manhood And Dignity) logo for Prost8’s latest campaign printed on them.
They certainly caused a stir when 6 male dancers came on stage towards the end of the gala, wearing nothing but the branded pants! It really was a great idea by the team at ICON for raising awareness of Prost8’s new campaign and the importance of campaigning for minimally invasive treatments for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer.
A great event was marred slightly by a surprising underpants theft backstage. Someone had obviously taken a shine to the branded bright blue underpants, and decided to take them for themselves.
It is saddening to think that someone is capable of stealing from a charity gala, but the silver lining to the theft was some great national coverage for Prost8.
Both The Mirror and The People featured the theft in their national papers, providing some great additional awareness for the great work that Prost8 do.
