EverythingBranded Takes Sides with Menphys Sports Club.

May 28, 2021

1 in 5 people in the UK have disabilities[1], that makes up about 19% of the population. Of that, 0.9 million are children[2] . According to Activity Alliance, four in five people with disabilities would like to be more active but are twice as likely as non-disabled people to be physically inactive[3]. People with disabilities face multiple obstacles and social barriers that hinder them from fully engaging in society. This is especially true for their engagement in sporting activities. Although we are heading towards a more inclusive sporting nation, we still have a way to go and that’s why charities such as Menphys are working to improve the lives of children and young people through sport and physical activity.

Menphys Gets the Ball Rolling

For over 50 years, Menphys have been supporting families across Leicestershire. Menphys helps children and young adults with additional needs and disabilities to live an ordinary life with equal choices and opportunities. Menphys aim is to increase the sports provision for children and young people with disabilities in Leicestershire, to enable them to have a better choice and wider breadth of sport activities. To kickstart this newly found initiative they have founded the Menphys Sports Club – a business club with a sporting twist. It is a chance for like minded businesses to network at sport themed events, the first taking place with special guest and sporting legend Emile Heskey on the 8th July 2021. All the funds from membership and event tickets will be put towards facilitating summer clubs, multi-sport events, evening clubs and much, much more.

EverythingBranded Joins the Club

In support of Menphys, EverythingBranded has signed up to be a club member to help raise funds for this important cause. Our CEO and founder, Paul Rowlett, has been a supporter of Menphys for some time now and was keen to join the club.

‘We started EverythingCommunity with local charities in mind. We are a Leicester based business wanting to support the local community. Menphys stood out when we heard that soon after opening a brand-new centre, they had to close due to Covid restrictions. I feel our support with help them sustain the great work they do’. – Paul Rowlett
