For the last month at EverythingFulfilment, our fulfilment centre has been having a massive overhaul due to expansion of the business and demand for storage space. During which time our CEO, Paul Rowlett, was giving away surplus office stock. The problem was, he couldn’t give them away. Through the generosity of the community, people wouldn’t take the office furniture for free and instead gave donations for the items. As Paul didn’t want to take money he instead put the donations aside to give to a charity. In the end, the charity of choice was hope against cancer.
About Hope Against Cancer
Hope Against Cancer prioritises research into early detection, treatment and prevent of cancer. The Hope Against Cancer Clinical Trials Facility is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The facility is a partnership between the University of Leicester, University Hospitals of Leicester and Hope Against Cancer. It offers the local people with cancer the opportunity to take part in clinical trials and is one of only a few outside of London where people can take part in the research to help develop new cancer drug treatments.
EverythingGlobal donates £360 to Hope Against Cancer
Coincidentally, on the same day that we were giving away furniture, Paul had been to a luncheon of sorts at Hope Against Cancers’ residence in Leicester. He heard some touching stories about people’s journey with the charity and couldn’t help but be inspired to give the collected money to them. We received a visit at Global headquarters from Jessica Southworth, corporate and community fundraiser to accept a cheque and tell us about all the exciting things they have on in the New year.
